Short version: the bittings you type into our calculators never leave your browser, we do not set cookies, and we do not have accounts, forms or a mailing list. The details are below.
What you enter into the calculators
Key bittings for a real building are sensitive. The calculators are built so that what you enter stays on your device:
- All calculations run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or to anyone else.
- Bittings are never put in the page address (URL), so they do not end up in your browser history, in links you share, or in the referrer sent to other websites.
- Bittings are not saved in cookies or local storage. Reloading the page clears them.
This is also why there is no "share this result" link. To keep a result, use your browser's print function — the result page is laid out for paper.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not track you across other websites. It gives us aggregate figures such as how many times a page was viewed, which pages and referring sites were most common, the country a visit came from, and the browser and device type. We do not receive anything you type into a calculator.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. That processing is covered by Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not run our own server logs.
What we do not have
- No user accounts or logins
- No forms or newsletter sign-ups
- No advertising or advertising cookies
- No affiliate links at present
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply. Please do not send real key bittings from a live system.
Changes
If what the site collects changes — for example, if affiliate links are added — this page will be updated first and the effective date above will change. Questions: contact@lockspecs.com.
